About The Voice House Community Choir

The Voice House was one of the first community choirs in Edinburgh, founded in 1992, so in 2025 we celebrate 33 years of singing together in harmony.

Our Musical Director is Yvonne Burgess, musician, choir director, composer and writer. She's been leading us for 25 years.

We meet in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, on Wednesday evenings between 7.00pm – 8.45pm, at Christ Church Hall, 6a Morningside Road, EH10 4DD. We currently have 40+ singers and are now recruiting new members.

We are a friendly, welcoming, inclusive choir. We sing mainly for fun and relaxation, learning folk, spiritual, gospel and popular songs from around the world, with a particular liking for African chants. We are open to all and require no audition, no previous experience or ability to read music, no solo singing and we learn by ear and sing everything 'a capella' (unaccompanied). Most of our songs are three or four part harmonies.

We are recruiting new members - please enquire as below for joining details.
